Basking Ridge Middle School Fencing Team

Welcome to Basking Ridge Middle School Fencing Team sponsored by Kids Can Fence. The program is open to any student in grades 6-8 with or without fencing experience and to all weapons. Practice fencing with classmates from Bernards Township and compete against other middle school fencing teams in the geographic area. The team is all about learning and/or improving your fencing skills and at the same time having competitive fun.

Venue: The Shrine of St. Joseph, 1050 Long Hill Road, Stirling, NJ. We fence in the auditorium located on the bottom level.

When: Practices are Fridays: 3:30 – 5:30 from December to February. Meets are scheduled on Mondays – Thursdays. See the detailed calendar in the Schedule. Parents are responsible for driving their child to and from meets.

Cost: $420.00

Equipment Requirements: Practice equipment: jacket, glove, mask, chest protector, plastron, and electric weapon of choice. Competition equipment: the above practice equipment plus knickers, corresponding body cord, lames for foil or sabre fencers, head cord and sabre mask if a sabre fencer, foil mask if a foil fencer. Students new to fencing with an undeclared weapon (epee, foil or sabre) may borrow a club weapon at practices and meets.
